The Berwick & District Cancer Support Group was founded in 1992 by a group of people who through experience knew how difficult it was to get to main hospitals in our area for cancer appointments (For those who don't know where we are, our closest major hospital is almost 60 miles away). They started up in the hope that no one would ever have to worry about travelling to their appointments again.

There are many Heart Support Groups around the country, and most of them, like The Berwick Area Heart Support Group, are affiliated to the British Heart Foundation. Usually, like us, they are run entirely by their members. The group was set up for people living in North Northumberland and the Eastern Borders areas. The group is here to help people with heart problems. Often, heart patients feel vulnerable and alone. Joining together with others who have similar problems can help people deal with these feelings. Support groups have been shown to help. Interest and support is medically very important in it’s own right.

B.A.R.K. short for Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels, is a registered charity - no. 1083038 whose aim is to provide a rescue and re-homing service for stray and unwanted domestic animals in need throughout north Northumberland and Berwickshire.

If for any reason you cannot continue to look after your pet please contact us and we will do our best to re-home it causing the least amount of trauma to all concerned.
